Velkommen International Hipsters!

Amd_hostelbedroom Somewhere on an abandoned Tokyo street, an emaciated 20-something looks at his copy of NYLON, touching his fingers against Chloe Sevigny's glossy, enigmatic visage. If only he could escape to a place where people understood him, a place where the Ray-Bans flow like water and where grown-ass men play kickball. Don't worry, my stylish friend, now there is a place where you can sample the sweet life of Williamsburg for only $29 a night. The New York Loft Hostel is open for business in beautiful East Williamsburg, and it's getting rave reviews.

"When I saw that it was in Brooklyn and I saw the price, I thought 'Oh no, what's this place going to be like? But it's been a nice surprise. It's clean and it has office space." - Gerard Malheude, France

"I haven't caught any diseases yet." - Debbie Akinbola, London

If it's good enough for a Frenchman, its good enough for me. Rooms are arranged barracks style, 14 beds to a room, so you can feel like you are part of the hippest army in the world. Also, it has Wi-Fi. Next time you hear Dutch while drinking at Kings County, you'll know why. [NY Daily News]

The Driggs' West Coast Tour

The Polyphonic Spree cover Nirvana from leef on Vimeo.

I'm off to Seattle and Los Angeles tomorrow. The Dirty Burgher and Ella Train will still be here postin' away, but I'll be drinking coffee, listening to Nirvana and getting a boob job (not necessarily in that order). I'll be back in a week, but until then just pretend the posts are more numerous than they really are.

Ferry Service to Launch in Williamsburg, New Pun Now Available to Spiteful Locals

Deadlinea_050808
Cries of "Look at the faeries taking the ferry!" will now no doubt be heard all along the Williamsburg shoreline. The new ferry service, which starts running in Queens on May 9th and from Greenpoint and the Burg in July, is reported to cost $6 and to take about an hour to get to Manhattan, leaving most concerned parties wondering why anyone bothered in the first place.
